Rookie Card does not shy away from pushing the boundaries of the Philly improv scene, from doing sets based off the standup of local favorite Doogie Horner in
the Philly Fringe Festival, to riffing off comic book readings by special vocal guest Billy Bob Thompson.

Rookie Card has performed in national comedy festivals including the Philadelphia Improv Festival, the Del Close Marathon, and the NC Comedy Arts Festival. The troupe appears regularly on the Philadelphia Improv Theater (PHIT)'s main stage. Their monthly show at The Raven Lounge (24 months ongoing) has come to be regarded as an ideal debut spot for new improv groups and stand-up comics in Philadelphia.

Described by the City Paper as “absurdly juvenile meets dark and tragic,” Rookie Card's reputation as Philadelphia's wildest and most unconventional improv comedy act has been earned in more than 50 shows over their two-year history. With their fast-paced and subversive style, Rookie Card members embrace the abnormal and absurd, where no cow is too sacred to tip over — or to slaughter and devour.

Rookie Card performs a loose Harold, opening their show with short scenes improvised from an audience suggestion, moving into the first beat of a Harold, and then breaking into a mix of play and speed. The frenetic pace accentuates their strengths of group mind and playful nature, while allowing them to take scenes in different directions from conventional improv shows.

Rookie Card members have taken classes at UCB, ComedySportz and the PHIT,
as well as being coached by noted improviser, Asaf Ronen.
