Sue Taney

Sue Taney was literally almost born on stage. Her mother, Reesa
Marchetti, performed in rock and new wave punk bands in the '70s and
'80s until a few weeks before Sue’s birth. Mom was about to leave for a
studio session when the labor pains hit. At age 8 weeks, Sue appeared on
TV with Mom. As soon as the budding thespian was able to speak, she
would join her mom on stage for a few choice songs.
Since then, Sue
decided to continue pursuing her love of the stage and earned a B.A. in
theater arts at Rowan University in 2006. She acted in numerous college
and community theater productions. Although she had tried many types of
performance, this joke-cracking, sarcastic heroine felt she never found
her niche -- until a roommate dragged her to a Comedy Sportz match. It
was love at first sight.
After seeing a few improv shows, Sue got the balls to start taking classes and studied short-form and musical improv at CSZ with Karen Getz, Mary Carpenter, Kelly Jennings and Dave Dritsas. She learned long-form from the good people at PHIT. The rest is Rookie Card history — but you can also catch her performing with the improv group Hate Speech Committee and performing in and/or writing for The Gross Show.
Off stage, Sue works as a preschool teacher where she enjoys using improv in her class every day. She lives in South Jersey with her wonderful husband Nick and their adorable 3-year-old daughter Kobayashi (a long-haired mini-dachshund).
