We're all set

Oh, the joys of show production never cease, but in our case, we've reached an end...yes, the papers have been signed, the RSVPs have been returned, and we've finalized our set lists for the Fringe! On the 4th, we'll be welcoming a duo who met at the Second City Conservatory, and who will be trying out a new format with us (as will we!). And on the 18th, sketch/improv group Blood Money will be coming down from NYC to wreak havoc on our stage. We couldn't be more excited at welcoming these two groups to Philly. So come on out and see our guests -- and us!

Stu, We Hardly Knew You

It is with both joy and sadness that we say goodbye to our teammate Stuart. We've shared the joy as he added one more member to his family (and ours), and we're sad to see him go as he heads back to his native Georgia. We'd like to thank Stu for sharing the stage with us these last five months and thinking what we do is pretty cool. We think you're pretty cool, too, Stu. We wish all the best to Stu and his family, and look forward to seeing him again on future improv stages. We'll miss you, Stu.

On the Fringe

We here are happy to announce our dates for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, where we will be bookending the Fringe with performances on Saturday, September 4th and Saturday, September 18th. Will you remember those dates by reading them in June? Doubtful, but we're proud to announce them anyway. We'll be sure to keep you posted as we get closer!

It's Close

We got word last week that we've been accepted to the Del Close Marathon (July 30-Aug 1) in New York. That's a big "YES!" to all our new members who made it in during our first submission to the festival. Stay out late after midnight on Friday night and come see our show at 1:15am on Saturday at the Urban Stages. No milk, but look forward to some good improv.

Troopers

We'd like to thank Angry People Building Things for persevering during our end of month show. Who know we would be competing with a deciding Game 5 of a third series a 7th seed shouldn’t have even been in? And thanks to Rick Horner’s Level 1 class coming out. You’re funny and supportive, how can we not love you? Thanks again to all who came out.

Need a coach?

We'd like to take a moment to advocate the talents of Rick Horner, who we consider a friend of Rookie Card. On more than one occasion Rick has taken the time to sit down and coach us, and we've found him invaluable in helping us to better define ourselves and our style. Just like he's helped us, he can help you, too, so if you have a desire to get some advice or need to get some coaching, we'd highly suggest that you contact Rick Horner at ick1019 AT gmail.com as your guide!

Free? Free!

Thanks to everyone who came out last night to the Shubin. We had a lot of fun... a LOT of fun. But hey, there's more! We'll be having not one, but TWO more opportunities to come see the Card for free. First, this Wednesday night, The Amie and Kristen Show will host us, Mr. Lizard, and new group WALT! in a private taping session... that right, you can be our live studio audience! Then come back at the end of April on the 26th for our monthly show with our guests, The Kristen and Amie Show! That's not a typo!

Three, it's a magic number

Well, in case you didn't get enough of us as a group, you can see us five times over in Troika. Kudos to Marc, Darryl, and Sue for Rounds 1 & 2, and Tom for moving on to the Finals. Look for Jake in Round 3 later this month!

Woo-wee!

We'd like to thank everybody who made Saturday's show so successful: PJI for all its assistance, our guests Surf 'n Turf and Bryan Linsky for coming all the way down from New York, and not the least of which... you! Thank you again for coming. Catch us next Monday for our monthly show with the Drexel Football Team.

Happy Everything Day!

Rookie Card is throwing a party - and you're invited! Commemorate the end of the first quarter, St. Patrick's Day, Frankie's birthday, our first anniversary, and whatever else you may enjoy, as we play host to two amazing improv groups from New York City, an open improv jam, and the legendary Ministry of Secret Jokes.
